MANCC Director Receives Cornerstone Arts and Humanities Program Enhancement Grant
Jennifer Calienes, Director of the Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography, receives funding for 2009 Forum
"The Forum is a two and a half day summit for 75 choreographers, presenters, college and university dance department chairs, residency site directors and dance funders from across the country. The Forum will provide a platform for field leadership to collectively explore ways to strengthen opportunities for choreographic research and development and advance contemporary work in the United States. The event builds upon our past five years of research at the Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography and takes place amongst a backdrop of research residencies at the center.
We have received additional support for the event and our research activities in this regard (the event is part of a larger research agenda) from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Leon County Cultural Tourist Council."
